TIRR Memorial Hermann presenting webinar on Disorders of Consciousness (DoC), May 13-15

The last decade has seen an explosion in our knowledge about Disorders of Consciousness (DoC). Recent advances have expanded our understanding of the neuroanatomical substrate of consciousness, enhanced our ability to more accurately detect consciousness, and identified a variety of potential treatment options.

This Zoom Conference is designed to introduce attendees to the most recent developments in the field, with an emphasis on translating this knowledge into clinical practice.

Topics covered include conceptualization/classification of consciousness, modes of assessment and diagnosis, prognostication, therapeutic interventions, the family perspective, ethics and advocacy.

Physical Therapy (PT), Physical Therapy Assistants (PTA), Occupational Therapists (OT), Occupational Therapy Assistants (OTA), Speech Language Pathologists (SLP), Nursing (TNA), Case Management (CM), Certified Disability Management Specialists (CDMS), Commission on Rehabilitation Counselor Certification (CRCC), and Social Work (SW), Physicians (MD/DO), Nurse Practitioners (NP), Physicians Assistant (PA), Nursing, Researchers, Psychologists, Music Therapy (MT), Therapeutic Recreation (TR), and others interested in working with those with a Disorder of Consciousness (DoC). Program Administrators, Manufacturers, Families and/or Survivors and all rehab healthcare providers invited to join.

Course Times:

PreConference Live-Streamed: May 13, 2021 7:15 a.m. - 5:15 p.m. plus 2 hours of pre-recorded content that must be completed prior to the live-streamed event.

Core Conference PreRecorded Webinar:

*highly recommended that you take prior to the live conference, but is not mandatory

Core Conference Live-Streamed Day 1: May 14, 2021 8:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. (registration begins at 7:15 am)

Core Conference Live-Streamed Day 2: May 15, 2021 8:00 a.m. - 2:30 p.m. (registration begins at 7:45 am)
