An honor to have UAE’s HH Sheikh Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum stop by CHOP’s display at Arab Health 2019 (at UAE Ministry of Health booth) showing the experimental invention of a womb-like environment that bridges the 24-28 week gestational period in lambs, by placing them in synthetic amniotic fluid while their lungs and eyes continue to mature. The hope is that one day this technology will help extremely premature infants by decreasing complications and death associated with prematurity.
