Children's Hospital of Philadelphia was pleased to participate in this healthcare working lunch


On the margins of Arab Health 2017, the U.S.-U.A.E. Business Council hosted His Excellency Dr. Amin Al Amiri, Assistant Undersecretary of Public Health Policy and Licensing at the U.A.E. Ministry of Health and Prevention yesterday at an exclusive healthcare policy working group luncheon in Dubai. H.E. Dr. Al Amiri was joined by senior U.S. executives spanning the healthcare industry, from healthcare providers and pharmaceutical companies to medical device makers and healthcare IT companies.

After a brief introduction by U.S.-U.A.E. Business Council President Danny Sebright, the luncheon featured an in-depth presentation by H.E. Dr. Al Amiri. In this talk, Dr. Amiri highlighted the opportunities presented by the anticipated growth of the U.A.E. healthcare market from 59 billion AED ($16 billion) in 2016 to 102 billion AED ($27.8 billion) in 2021. He also provided an overview of new healthcare legislation and policies.

His Excellency concluded the presentation by emphasizing the importance of public private healthcare partnerships, remarking, "We look forward to being one of the best countries worldwide by 2021 in the healthcare sector. We can achieve this goal with the support and partnership of private-sector companies such as yours."

Following the presentation, His Excellency received questions regarding a variety of topics, including the structure of the U.A.E. healthcare system and cooperation between different healthcare entities; the healthcare insurance marketplace; the U.A.E.'s integrated health record system; and healthcare cost management.

Mr. Sebright concluded the luncheon by giving a special thanks to H.E. Dr. Al Amiri and the business community for joining the discussion.
