Congratulations to HH Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan and the Sheikh Zayed Institute for Pediatric Surgical Innovation at Children's National Medical Center in Washington DC, who recently launched an illustrated, bilingual children’s book in support of the UAE's Year of Reading initiative.
The Book, written by renowned Emirati writer Maitha Al Khayat, was presented at an event attended by H.H. Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, at Tawam Hospital, Al Ain.
Sheikh Abdullah read the illustrated storybook aloud to a group of children currently undergoing treatment at Tawam Hospital, and encouraged them to commit to and embrace reading as it is a fundamental cornerstone upon which nations are built.
Sheikh Abdullah said, "Over the course of many years, the UAE’s partnership with Children’s National Medical Center has led to robust efforts to advance medical innovation, best practices and knowledge transfer to improve the lives of children in the UAE, US and around the world. This book is yet another example of the positive value that our collaboration imparts to our children and communities."
This is such a beautiful example of how long-time partners find creative ways to collaborate for the well being of children.
